THE AREA

Penkridge is a very lively town. Although described as a small market town, Penkridge definitely has a village community atmosphere. There are plenty of high-class shops and restaurants.

Every Wednesday and Saturday there are open-stall markets in the town which are very popular. In addition to locally produced food, items on sale include household goods, ornaments, garden equipment, fashion shoes, toiletries and tools. People travel from all over the Midlands to this particular market.

There are several wharfs and marinas in the parish and in the summer the canal (Staffordshire and Worcestershire) is very busy - and there are a couple of locks to be negotiated through Penkridge itself.

Below are just a few place to visit. (Websites will open in new window)
